Well, Melody, Brett and Otis left yesterday
and it's been sadly quiet ever since. Their
visit has reaffirmed my desire to be the
patriarch of a large and boisterous household..."Good
night John-Boy".
The big news of the moment is our impending
visit to Canada. I'm going for one week and
Karen for three. We're both greatly looking
forward to it. We leave on Saturday -- wish
us luck.
Hopefully I'll be able to post to Hunkabutta
from my home town -- Mississauga, Ontario.
This should provide a nice contrast to the
usual pictures of boring old Tokyo.

Been off for a few days now, and it's been
good. Had a great time last night at the
Warrior Celt in Ueno with Brett, Ollie and
the bar owner Andy -- unfortunately, I forgot
to take pictures.
However, Karen and I took Melody, Otis and
Brett to Minowa covered shopping street and
Takeshita dori in Harajuku -- above are a
few pictures from that outing.

Melody and Otis have been staying with
us
for the past few days and it's been
fun having
a little kid around -- kind of a primer
for
when our own gets here.
Our neighbourhood isn't the nicest, and there's
not much for a little kid to do, so yesterday
we took Otis to local temple so that he could
have a bit of space to run around.

Here are the first shots from my new SLR
camera (a Kawa) which was given to me by
my kind father-in-law Gary.
The pictures where taken at this year's cherry
blossom viewing party in Ueno park. Japan
is C-R-O-W-D-E-D, no doubt about it. Sometimes
it feels like you're living in a rock concert,
except that there's no music and everyone
is on valium.
